Magnaplate is excited to offer one-day turnarounds as one of our expedited coating options.* The service is available on request for most of our coatings on a best-effort basis and can be an attractive choice in urgent situations. As always, our twelve-, nine-, six- and three-day expedited turnarounds are also available to give you maximum flexibility to meet your customers’ needs in the most timely manner. Here are the details:

Following the RFQ process, you can receive pre-approval on a best-effort basis to take advantage of one of our expedite options. One-day turnaround may be possible depending on variables that include the quantities and sizes of the parts and other processing factors. Please note that all expedite options include a surcharge, and parts requiring masking typically take more than three days to complete.

Is My Preferred Coating Method Appropriate for Expedited Processing?

While specific requirements will determine the most appropriate surface treatment and process for a given part, we offer two coating techniques — hard anodizing and electroless nickel plating — that may be favorable options when you need a fast turnaround:

• Hard anodizing. The part is submerged in an electrolytic bath while a direct current passes through the solution to create the protective layer directly on the surface. Often well-suited for aluminum, titanium and magnesium parts, hard anodizing can be a time-saving process versus conventional coatings.
• Electroless nickel plating. In this process, a nickel alloy is deposited on a substrate without sending electric current through the bath or the substrate. Medium phosphorous electroless nickel has the fastest deposition rate, and the process is characterized by good uniformity — especially for complex parts. Electroless nickel is appropriate for a wide range of applications.
